It's been a very busy month so I'll try to include all the cakes in one posting! Congratulations to all the happy couples.

Firstly a lego cake, each tier depicting different scenes - the top tier their wedding and church, middle tier the honeymoon and the bottom tier showing activities they have done together:

Unusual shapes and monograms of the couples initials make a sparkling and unusual cake:

And a cake that sums up the phrase 'less is more' completely - sugar pearls, ribbon and daisies with matching mini cakes:

Wonky cakes tend to be humorous in design but I'm hoping this design shows they can be elegant and sophisticated too! Sugar lace design with sugar peonies on a 3 tier wonky cake:

Vintage afternoon tea and Diamante hearts wedding cakes

Vintage afternoon tea design - cake, cupcakes, cookies and fudge all to match my china cake stand, plate and bowl (available to hire if required). Guest Name cookies match the theme and make delicious edible place settings.

13th birthday cake and dessert buffet table

The whole idea of this buffet table was designed around the cake style and colours - raspberry pink and chocolate brown. The cake itself was a mini 3 tier cake, with matching chocolate fudge cupcakes and cookie pops. Other items included chocolate truffles in kilner jars, mini marshmallow and malteser cheesecakes, raspberry coconut ice, macaroons, jelly fluff shots and chocolate-dipped strawberries and marshmallows.

Its time for a new collection of designs for next season so here's one to get started - muted shades of mauve and silver using the ever-popular rose with some little sugar blossoms as well.

I'd like to think that the phrase 'less is more' sums this one up completely - it doesn't have loads of decoration - just piped pearls and a satin ribbon and brooch - but I like the simplicity!

Hi everyone - welcome to Cakes by Suzanne blog. Its been a busy few months since the start of this year, with wedding cakes and fayres and consultations for weddings later this year, not to mention the odd birthday and celebration, including all five of my children's birthdays which fall between January and April so they all had to have cakes as well!

My stand at the recent wedding fayre at Rosspark Hotel, Kells - it was great to meet so many of you, including those who have already booked their cakes for later this year and next!
